I DESIGN ANYTHING.

I have been designing in one way or another since I was a little kid. I used to sketch up mocks of logos and even try my hand at my own brands, thinking I’d hit it rich eventually. At 12 I had a few of the gearheads in my neighbourhood putting my stickers across their windshields, which was a massive ego boost.

I took art throughout high school, leaning towards of a love of typography, specifically hand made. I ended up at George Brown College for a three year diploma in Graphic Design, during which I had moved to Hamilton and commuted to Toronto every day for the final year. After I graduated I took on quite a few freelance jobs as well as working with my brother to establish a screen printing shop out of our parent’s basement.

Hamilton didn’t have much work for designers at the time, so I had decided to go to Sheridan for a one-year New Media Design course. This course was during the peak of Flash, Youtube was brand new and the internet was starting to go from nerds to everyone. I learned a lot in this one year course, and it was amazingly difficult.

After I had graduated I picked up a job with a Supermoto league doing odd design jobs for merchandise and branding. That wasn’t a full time job but it was pretty interesting. After that I worked in a small agency creating a flash based game for Harry And His Bucket Full Of Dinosaurs. Another amazing year of learning.

After all of that I applied for a position at Credit Valley Conservation, where I currently am as a Graphics and Web Coordinator. A static webpage to a massive, fully responsive, AODA site, well many of them, and a heap of social outlets to fulfill the needs of. Thousands of projects later and here I am, still doing freelance on the side to keep things interesting.

Some of my freelance clients have included the Hamilton Port Authority, Satov Consultants, Cyber Air Systems Inc. Babony Post and Hole, Nasmoto LLC, The Straight Pipes, Pedagogue Medical Communications, Niagara Falls Professional Firefighers Association, Firehall First Aid, Great Spirit Designs, Duratech Roofing, Greater Niagara Sheet Metal, Khaki Bean Coffee Roasters, and Tech/Life Balance.

In the mean time I also do amateur woodworking, shoddy pinstriping, window painting, gardening and attempting to raise a few kids.
